BSA comes from Birmingham Small Arms, aka English threading. English threading on mountain bikes means a 73mm-wide, 34mm-inside-diameter shell with reverse threading on the drive side. It's the most common threaded standard employed today. This kit allows you to fit 30mm cranks, like those from Rotor or RaceFace, to fit in the tight space of this 30mm spindle.
CeramicSpeed Coated Bearings are hand-built with unique CeramicSpeed Ceramic Balls installed on coated, hardened-steel races for longer life and less bearing drag compared to standard bearings.
In The Box
- 2 threaded cups with bearings installed
- 2 1mm spacers
- 2 0.5mm spacers
- 2 dust covers
- O-ring
- 10ml syringe All Round Grease

The PF30 standard has opened design possibilities for mountain bikes. Our CeramicSpeed PF30 Shimano MTB Bottom Bracket gives you the ability to install Shimano and other 24mm diameter spindle cranks on your PF30 MTB.
Our PF30 cups have extended sleeves and join with a center section, reducing the likelihood of creaking and increasing the reliability of the system.
There is both a Standard and Coated version. Both feature super smooth CeramicSpeed Balls and hardened-steel races. The CeramicSpeed Coated Bearings have an additional benefit: a 3-micron thick metallic layer over the races. This addition makes the races harder and smoother, lowering drag and increasing life.
The CeramicSpeed Standard Bearings have only 0.3-0.4 watts of frictional drag per set, an average drag reduction of 75% compared to stock bottom brackets. This is the result of great design, including hardened-steel races and CeramicSpeed Balls that are 100% smoother and 15% harder than the ceramic competition. They also last longer.
If you want longer life and even lower drag, opt for the CeramicSpeed Coated Bearings. Life increases by 60% and drag drops by 50% compared to our CeramicSpeed Standard Bearings.
Performance can be tuned by changing the grease. LongLife Grease comes installed, but can be changed for lower-drag All Round Grease for lower drag and cleaner riding conditions.
In The Box
- 1 bottom bracket with CeramicSpeed bearings installed
- 2 dust covers
- 5 0.85mm spacers
- 10ml syringe of LongLife Grease

Shimano cranks fit into BB86 frames when you have this CeramicSpeed Bottom Bracket installed. The kit consists of two cups that are pressed into either side of the central opening.
The cups come with CeramicSpeed Bearings installed. There are two versions. The first is our low drag, long life Standard Bearing with hardened-steel races and our super-round CeramicSpeed Balls. The second version is our coated bearing, which uses those same CeramicSpeed Balls installed on coated, hardened-steel races for longer life and less bearing drag.
This CeramicSpeed BB86 Bottom Bracket works with cranks that have 24mm spindles, including both Shimano and FSA.
CeramicSpeed standard Bearings typically have frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set. That represents an average 75% drag reduction compared to standard bottom brackets. The hardened-steel races feature the CeramicSpeed Balls that are 100% smoother and 15% harder than the ceramic competition. The CeramicSpeed Bearings last at least three times longer than other bearings.
Coated Bearings drop friction further and increase lifespan. The coated races see a 50% drag reduction and an improvement in bearing life of 60%.
In The Box:
- 2 bottom bracket cups with bearings installed
- 2 dust covers with integrated spacers installed
- Spacer tube
- 10ml syringe of All Round Grease

BSA is equivalent to English threading. English threading on MTBs mean a 73mm-wide, 34mm-inside-diameter shell with reverse threading on the drive side. It's the most common threaded standard employed today. This kit works with 24mm diameter cranks, such as Shimano, FSA, Rotor, and others.
Choose between two bearing types for the cups. Standard Bearings have low drag thanks to hardened-steel races and our Ceramic balls. Coated Bearings have those same balls installed on coated, hardened-steel races for longer life and less bearing drag.
For MTBs, English threading, thanks to history, is pretty much the one threaded standard. It works great. 24mm spindles easily fit through the shell, allow for large bearings to be employed in the outside cups. What's more, they rarely creak and seal up well.
Lots of things slow bikes down; bearings shouldn't be among them. CeramicSpeed Standard Bearings typically have frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set. That's in the range of a 75% drag reduction compared to standard bottom brackets. The bearings last at least 3x longer than other bearings. Coated bearings have even less drag.
These bearings come packed with LongLife Grease, best for muddy conditions. For less drag when riding in cleaner environs, you can coat the bearings with either All Round Grease or lowest drag TT and Track Grease, which is designed for clean conditions.
In The Box
- 2 threaded cups with bearings
- 2 dust covers with built-in spacers
- Spacer tube
- 10ml syringe of LongLife grease

The BB30 standard opened up design possibilities for frames. Adapting it for Shimano cranks takes a special machined aluminum threaded bottom bracket that threads into itself.
Ours are finished with CeramicSpeed Bearings. You have two choices in terms of bearings. The first choice is our low drag, long life standard bearing with hardened-steel races and our super-round CeramicSpeed Balls. The second choice is our coated bearing, which uses those same balls installed on coated, hardened-steel races for longer life and less bearing drag.
This bottom bracket works with cranks that have 24mm spindles.
Bottom brackets have several variables, but within that, CeramicSpeed standard Bearings typically have frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set. That's in the range of a 75% drag reduction compared to standard bottom brackets. That's thanks to balls that are 100% smoother and 15% harder than the ceramic competition. Bottom Brackets are an essential part of the bicycle that is often overlooked and forgotten, but we saw the BB as another opportunity for performance gains and improved efficiency. For our BB we have developed a seal that achieves a very low level of drag while still retaining excellent protection qualities. Its thinner and low viscosity bearing grease with the correct fill level offers higher durability at high speeds. If you’re running the best crankset on the market, you should have the performance BB to match.

Chris King has been making stainless-steel sealed bearings for 34 years, and never has there been a component that benefited more from their quality than the press-fit bottom bracket. The Chris King bottom bracket is specifically designed for frames that utilize pressed in bearing cups and is available in the full assortment of colors that only King can do.
It all starts with the bearings. King makes their own bearings in-house and the process allows them to place more balls per bearing—24 to be exact. More rolling elements per bearing creates a stronger overall bearing system. This bottom bracket works seamlessly with King's precision injector tool (sold separately), so that flushing new grease into your bottom bracket is a quick and easy operation.
