Andy's Daily Tip

Monitor Your Heart For Faster Fitness - Exercise experts all agree on how important heart-rate monitoring is to a successful fitness regimen. The beat of the heart muscle is one of the most reliable "meters" of our physical condition, and how it responds to exercise helps us measure our fitness progress. Your age, your general level of fitness and your weight all are factors in this equation, too, and will contribute to determining the correct range for beginning or adjusting your heart-rate monitoring. Your doctor can help you with this, and there are many good texts on the subject. Many brands now come in a wide range of prices and with multiple features, such as a stopwatch, cyclometer, or even a PC cable so you can upload your heart-rate data and track your progress more reliably over longer periods. Some heart-rate monitors are completely waterproof, so you can also wear them swimming.
